STRUCTURAL INTEGRATION:

FRAN CEGELKA

Fran Cegelka is the former owner/director  of the Institute for Therapeutic Massage and Movement (ITMM) and currently a senior instructor at the Mind Body Institute (MBI). Fran also teaches Anatomy for Yoga at many of the local Yoga studios and Yoga Teacher Certification Trainings.

Since 1991, Fran has practiced and taught massage therapy in Florida and Tennessee. He has continued his education in neuromuscular massage, myofascial integration, human anatomy, yoga and assisted stretching techniques.

Structural Integration is a type of Massage Therapy which aims to align the human body in the gravitational field. The intention of Structural Integration is the same as Neuromuscular Massage Treatment: that the increased use of balance at finer levels of the neuro-fascial-musculo-skeletal system allows for increased general well-being and physical adaptability and resilience as well as reduced pain from biomechanically caused pain. The primary difference is the technique applied.

Structural Integration is a 10 session series of connective tissue manipulation designed to allow body segments to shift to a more balanced position. Re-education of the clients movement patterns and other modalities are commonly used to achieve or support the goal of improved alignment. Fran studied Structural Integration through the CORE Institute. Core Institute Programs are based in Science and turn out some of  the finest and most successful therapists in the field.

FULL BODY RELAXATION MASSAGE

Stress is an inherent part of daily life. Stresses can be caused by negatives like unpleasant confrontations, deadlines, being overwhelmed by too much to do in too limited a timeframe. But even the joyous times like wedding planning and activities accompanying holiday seasons can produce stress. It can be negative stress or it can be positive stress, but it is stress nonetheless.

The dominant paradigm of NNC's neuromuscular massage therapy treatments (NMT) is scientific and problem-solving in nature. And while the focus of NMT is on a clinical, functional outcome, by contrast, a relaxation massage is all about nurturing and relaxing the client.
In addition to their Clinical bodywork, Michele Baier Lambert and Bethann Easterly also offer  full body relaxation massage. Relaxation massage is a perfect treatment for the work weary where you can just relax and drift away in the hands of one of these expert therapists. Please be sure to advise your  therapist  as to what you are expecting from your session -- full body stress reduction or clinical evaluation and pain relief.
