STRUCTURAL INTEGRATION:

FRAN CEGELKA

Structural Integration is a type of Massage Therapy which aims to align the human body in the gravitational field. The intention of Structural Integration is the same as Neuromuscular Massage Treatment: that the increased use of balance at finer levels of the neuro-fascial-musculo-skeletal system allows for increased general well-being and physical adaptability and resilience as well as reduced pain from biomechanically caused pain. The primary difference is the technique applied.

Structural Integration is a 10 session series of connective tissue manipulation designed to allow body segments to shift to a more balanced position. Re-education of the clients movement patterns and other modalities are commonly used to achieve or support the goal of improved alignment. Fran studied Structural Integration through the CORE Institute. Core Institute Programs are based in Science and turn out some of  the finest and most successful therapists in the field.

Focused Deep Tissue Stress Reduction MASSAGE

OFFERING A SMART MASSAGE FOR SMART PEOPLE

Stress is an inherent part of daily life. Stresses can be caused by negatives like unpleasant confrontations, deadlines, financial pressures, or being overwhelmed by too much to do in too limited a timeframe. But even the joyous times like wedding planning, moving into your dream house, and activities accompanying happy holiday seasons can produce stress. It can be negative stress or it can be positive stress, but it is stress nonetheless. Smart people know a great massage can keep their stress levels down and help them maintain a healthier happier state of mind and body.

The dominant paradigm of the Nashville Neuromuscular Center's neuromuscular massage therapy treatments (NMT) is scientific and problem-solving in nature. And while the focus of NMT is on a functional clinical outcome, by contrast a relaxation massage is all about nurturing and relaxing the client.

Some of our staff also provide stress reduction massage -- the perfect treatment for the work weary, where you can just relax and drift away in the hands of one of these expert therapists. Please be sure to advise your therapist in advance as to what you are expecting from your session. These Nashville Bodyworkers have advanced anatomy education and provide a very educated and relaxing massage. Don't get rubbed the wrong way!

CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY, LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE, & VISCERAL MANIPULATION

CranioSacral Therapy is a Gentle Touch technique that works deeply. Your craniosacral system is the membrane around the brain and spinal cord. Within this membrane is cerebral spinal fluid which fills and empties around 6-12 times per minute. Since this is part of your central nervous system, if there are imbalances here it reflects out into the body. CranioSacral Therapy also works with fascia and all the connective tissues in the body.

Consuelo Mathews Moore, LMT has practiced bodywork for 12 years and has acquired extensive knowledge and experience. She graduated in 1998 from Arlington School of Massage in Jacksonville, FL, studied multiple classes with the Upledger Institute in CranioSacral Therapy, Lymph Drainage Therapy, and Visceral Manipulation.  She worked with Wendy Kanter at Mind/Body Inc. located in the Baptist Hospital Health and Wellness Center, worked 3 years in physical therapy clinics, including opening Susan Underwood Physical Therapy. While working directly with Susan Underwood she provided CranioSacral Therapy and various other modalities to patients with chronic pain, brain and spinal cord injuries, infantile disorders, and other illnesses and injuries.
