Clinical Bodywork/Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) assesses and treats acute and chronic pain syndromes by applying specific therapeutic massage techniques combined with movement, stretching and strengthening to restore efficient posture and eliminate the causes of most soft tissue pain patterns. This specific and scientific approach to muscular pain relief will help to normalize functional communication between the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system.

Neuromuscular Therapy enhances the function of joints, muscles, and biomechanics (movement). It is a non-invasive and method of pain treatment in Nashville. It has been effective in treating cases like low back pain, neck pain, arm and shoulder pain, hip pain, knee pain, TMJ pain, headache, and scoliosis. When used in conjunction with other medical modalities, Therapeutic Neuromuscular Massage can be a very efficient part of a comprehensive treatment plan. NMT is in itself a stand-alone treatment approach as well. We are happy to work in conjunction with your Physician, Physical Therapist, Chiropractor, Athletic Trainer, Yoga/Pilates Instructor, or other Healthcare Practitioner as part of your rehab team.

Neuromuscular Massage Therapy is different from full-body relaxation massage or deep tissue massage. It is not about the depth of pressure, but rather about the specificity - the specific placement of pressure. If the therapist is on the exact muscle fibers involved, they will not necessarily need to exert a heavy hand in order to be effective. We do not subscribe to the "no pain, no gain" philosophy in our application of therapeutic massage.
The treatment we provide draws from a variety of bodywork techniques which we integrate into our core work, "Neuromuscular Therapy" to address the specific needs our clients face. We want to resolve the source of pain, so that it is no longer an ongoing issue. While we try to help our clients reach their goals as quickly and efficiently as possible and then send them off to live their best life, many choose to continue for a regular schedule of maintenance, knowing these regular tune ups will help them prevent future injury. We strive to educate and help our clients help themselves, gaining a better understanding of their musculoskeletal system and biomechanics.

Nashville Neuromuscular Care Massage Therapy examines a minimum of seven physiological factors which may be causing or perpetuating pain patterns. These are: Ischemia, Trigger Points, Nerve Entrapment/Compression, Postural Distortions, Biomechanical Dysfunction, Nutrition, and Lifestyle Stress.
